Most motorhomers like to take a bicycle or two with them on their trips. Whether it's just kids bikes to scoot around the campsite or perhaps it's the adult bikes that will the means of getting the essential bread (or perhaps croissants) and milk every morning, the bicycle is essential kit for any motorhome holiday. I will give you the benefit of my 15 years motorhome knowledge to give you the best advice about bike racks and accessories.
Firstly I've always found Fiamma to be a manufacturer that I could trust, having had three of their bicycle racks over the years (and other products such as wheel chocks, steps etc). They supply a number of different style bike racks, but the main difference is whether the bike rack is permanently fixed to your motorhome (or caravan) or temporarily attached at time of journey. The Fiamma Carry Bike Pro C is their number one seller, and with good reason. It is perfect for a motorhome where height is limited as it can be fitted on a small surface. It's ideal for a motorhome with a rear window, the bike rack fits under the window and usually can be installed in such a manner that allows the window to be opened, even with bikes mounted. The Fiamma Carry Bike Pro is the model used for leisure vehicles without a rear window, it includes telescopic upright sections, allowing for a flexible installation. Both these products are permanently fixed to your motorhome and both are supplied as standard to carry two bikes, but can be extended to carry four.
For a temporary bike rack fixture, the Fiamma Carry Bike T4 (suitable for the VW T4, California, Coach etc) and T5 (suitable for the VW California, VW Transporter and VW Multivan) are industry leading products. These are perfectly suited to Ford Transit conversion type vehicles. Again they can be extended to hold four bikes, but usually you should not exceed 60kg.
In addition to bike racks, Fiamma also produce a number of accessories for racks including signals, safety reflectors and additional rails for your bike rack.
